From the Spaarne to big water
Haarlem has the Spaarne and the Mooie Nel, but anyone who wants a serious day of pike or perch fishing from a boat drives to the Westeinderplassen. From the centre of Haarlem or from Heemstede it's about 25 minutes via the N201 past Hoofddorp to our jetty on the Oosteinderweg in Aalsmeer.
How it works
- Book a fishing boat online for the day (09:00–17:00) — €150, including fuel, life jackets and a chart.
- Park for free at the jetty, load your rods and gear.
- Short briefing on the boat and the engine; no boat licence needed (18+).
- Within five minutes you're on your first spot.
What to bring
Rods, bait, unhooking mat, pliers and tape measure, warm clothing in layers and a valid VISpas for everyone who fishes. No pass? See buying a VISpas. Also check the closed season for pike if you want to go in spring.
What to expect
In autumn and winter the lake is quiet and the pike sit along the reed beds and on the channel edges; perch are found around jetties and posts, zander in the channels. Read our guide to fishing the Westeinderplassen and the page on fishing spots to prepare well.
